Leading Lights

Leading Lights

Our Leading Lights are a group of children from years 2 to 6, who play a very important role in developing the Christian character of the school. Their responsibilities include:

  • being ambassadors and actively promoting our Christian values

  • planning, leading and evaluating collective worship

  • acting as a voice on behalf of their fellow pupils with regard to the Christian character of our school.

  • Supporting the school in becoming agents of change, supporting the school in its charity work and support of the local community.

The Leading Lights meet at least twice a term to reflect and develop these areas. They take the lead in creating and carrying out prayer in both collective and class worship.

“As a Leading Light I have enjoyed sharing God’s word and sharing our school values.” Kellog

“I like going to Leading Lights meetings and finding out more about the bible. I have helped in Worship."  Amena

“We have helped with school worship, saying prayers and we have helped choose the charity. We are being ‘Agents of Change’ and the school voted for ‘The Children’s Book Project.’ I enjoyed seeing all the books we collected.” Holly

Worship Wednesday

Once a month, on a Wednesday, all children are invited to a lunchtime club. This is an open invitation to all children, and they can come every month or on an ad hoc basis. During Worship Wednesday’s, there are opportunities to worship, discuss the school story, complete activities relating to the school values and build on the Christian character of the school.
