New Parents

Welcome to St Mark’s! Whether you are beginning your school journey with us right at the beginning in Early Years, or joining an older year group, starting a new school can be a daunting experience, and we want to help make the process as smooth as possible for the parents, and as exciting as possible for the children.

Parent to parent support

At St Mark’s, whichever class your child starts in, you have a ready-made support system in the other parents. Each year group has a parent-run WhatsApp group for all your questions, for organising social events, and sending each helpful reminders.

If you have already started at St Mark’s or have been accepted in the next September intake, and would like to be added to the relevant WhatsApp group, please email the PTA at secretarytn4@gmail.com with your phone number and year group, and they will make sure you are added to the correct group.

There is also a private Facebook group for parents: https://www.facebook.com/groups/stmarkstwparents

Pre-loved uniform

In addition to the new uniform available from the school, the PTA has a wide selection of gently pre-loved uniform for sale. It is alarming how easily cardigans and jumpers in particular can go missing, no matter how diligent you are at labelling! Have a look at the current available selection in the document at the bottom of this page, and get in touch if you’d like to buy some. After-school sales are organised throughout the year as well, enabling parents to top up easily as the seasons change.

Labels

You will hear this often from the staff, especially in Early Years and Key Stage 1: When it comes to uniform, LABEL, LABEL and LABEL again! There are loads of different ways to do it, from a simple Sharpie to a beautifully sown-in name tag. A nice middle ground are personalised sticky labels from www.mynametags.com. If you use the code 32672 we receive 24% commission on your order.

PTA

St Mark’s has an active and friendly PTA, which organises social and fundraising events throughout the year. Find out more about their activities and how to get involved - they would love to hear from you!
